Ingredients

85% Whole Duck (Meat, Bones, Liver, Heart) 15% Fresh Seasonal Vegetables and Fruit, Fresh Plum, Fresh Orange, Ginger

Duck: is a great source of important nutrients that dogs need, including protein, healthy fats, Omega-3 fatty acids, iron and antioxidants. Naturally higher in fat, duck is excellent for feeding energetic dogs. Duck is actually low in saturated fat. In addition, it provides a rich source of B vitamins along with plenty of phosphorous, which is good for bones and teeth, and potassium, which enables enzymes, muscles, and nerves to function properly.

B Vitamins are good for protecting your dogs from cancer. Vitamin B3, aka Niacin, is good for controlling the dog’s glucose levels and converts the duck meat’s protein, fat and carbohydrates into energy that the dog can use. Vitamin B6, also called Pyridoxine, aids cardiovascular health and supports a dog’s energy metabolism. Duck also contains antioxidants that help boost the immune system like zinc and selenium, which also aids the maintenance of a dog’s normal thyroid function. The Omega-3 fatty acids in duck meat help your dog maintain a healthy coat.

Duck is not only tasty but it’s a great solution for tackling food sensitivities and allergies. Duck is often considered a "Novel" protein in pet foods, meaning that is a relatively new protein source and therefore few intolerances towards duck have developed in canines. It is because of this that we can consider our raw duck-based dog foods as 'hypoallergenic'. If your dog suffers from allergies or intolerances towards traditional protein sources such as chicken and beef, or if they suffer from a sensitive stomach, we recommend trying this duck meal. Symptoms of allergies or intolerances can include unpleasant digestive issues, poor skin and coat health and lack of energy or vitality.

Feeding Guidelines

Feed 2-3% of the dog's ideal body weight daily, ideally spread over two meals. We recommend feeding any dogs over the age of 6 months twice a day. Depending on the breed and the age of your puppy, they can move to adult ratios, larger puppies can move over sooner but still feed puppy rations until they are fully grown.

  • Step #1: Preparation

Once you’re ready, take out your pet’s meal from the refrigerator. Only serve raw products when completely thawed - Frozen foods can be difficult for animals to digest. Never microwave any pet food. This takes a bit of foresight, but once you’re used to a raw diet it becomes very easy to remember when to take out new portions to thaw!

  • Step #2: Serving

Once your pup’s meal is fully thawed it’s time for feeding! Feed an appropriate portion to your dog, preferably in a separate bowl. We recommend a stainless steel bowl as it can easily be cleaned. Other materials, such as plastic, are porous and can trap germs over time. Remove any unconsumed food (if there is any!) within 20 minutes.

Storage & Handling

Storage

Keep raw-frozen products frozen until ready to use. Our raw-frozen products should be stored frozen at -18°C in the freezer. Before feeding, should be thawed in the refrigerator. We recommend you allow 2 days for the meals to fully thaw before feeding. Freshly opened products should be stored in the refrigerator and fed within 72 hours.

Safe Handling

Wash all work surfaces, utensils, hands, and food bowls with hot, soapy water after handling raw meats and poultry. Keep raw meat and poultry away from children and separate from other foods. It’s important to clean your pet's bowl after each meal, which is why we recommend using a bowl that can easily be sanitized. Wash your hands and your pet's bowl with warm soapy water after each feeding.
