FAQs
What is bone broth and why is it beneficial?
Bone broth is a nutrient-dense liquid obtained by simmering animal bones over a long period, allowing the beneficial collagen, gelatin, amino acids, and minerals to be released into a bioavailable form. Bone broth has been used for centuries as a natural remedy for gut health, joint function, and immune support in both humans and animals.
How much broth should I give my dog daily?
We recommend you follow our feeding guidelines for your dog’s weight. If your dog is suffering from tummy upsets or has a gastro problem, then it is perfectly safe to give your dog a couple of servings of broth a day to help settle their tummy. Broth is also great if your dog isn’t drinking very much. Broth can help hydrate with important electrolytes.
How can I set my broth back to collagen jelly?
Add one scoop (5g) to a jug with 70ml of boiling hot water. Double the amount if you want to make up more. If you want more jelly, just use less water per scoop. Stir well and then put your liquid broth into your fridge. We recommend the back of the fridge because it’s cooler. Make sure your fridge is set to 3 degrees. Leave for 24 hours.
My dog is new to bone broth, how should I introduce it to their diet?
We always recommend that you consult with a vet before introducing any new product or supplement into your dog’s diet. It’s best to start your dog off with only a small amount, try your dog with 10ml of broth daily for a few days and see how they go. If all okay, then increase slowly their dosage in line with their weight.
What broth should I give my dog for extra collagen?
Our beef broth is the best for collagen.
